Whatever time of year and whatever holiday you may be celebrating, there’s a reason to make a scrapbook to honor it. The motive behind holiday scrapbooking ideas is the simple fact that time slips away quickly and memories, the priceless stuff that life is made of, are elusive. To capture them for future generations, decide on holiday scrapbooking ideas for all the holidays of the year, but perhaps one scrapbook per year, if you will, insuring thought and consummate effort into your final holiday scrapbooking ideas. Here are some thoughts about how to go about this seemingly monumental task, which like most things in life is accomplished one step at a time.

Write down your thoughts in a holiday scrapbooking ideas journal before you begin. Include some of the following: feelings, plans, hopes and dreams for the holidays. Collect material for your holiday scrapbooking ideas that reflect the ideas expressed in these notes.

Use journaling as a tool to document your photos.

Write down as much information as possible about the photos and ephemera you have chosen for your holiday scrapbooking ideas. This could include when and what time of day it was taken, the location, the occasion and of course, who is in the photo. Even though these details may not seem that important, for the future generation, for those who weren’t there when the photos were taken, this is all priceless anecdotal information. Record it for always and incorporate it all into your holiday scrapbooking ideas. Journaling also helps to tell the story of the holiday you are commemorating, no matter which it may be.

Personalizing your holiday scrapbooking ideas.

This will greatly depend on the type of scrapbooking paper and pattern you select. There are a myriad of choices available on the market today, so pick those designs for your holiday scrapbooking ideas that best suit you and your family’s collective personality. Paper patterns can also serve as a subtle backdrop to your holiday scrapbooking ideas. Remember that the photos are the main attraction, and you will need something to complement but not overshadow their impact. Anything goes, however, so let your imagination go as wild as it dare to express your holiday scrapbooking ideas. Most important of all, make the choice that reflects your own unique holiday scrapbooking ideas.

Holiday mementos for every holiday under the sun.

These run the gamut of all the holidays themselves, ranging from Christmas cards and holiday poems to colored pictures drawn by children, or cards with holiday sayings that match the unique theme of your holiday scrapbooking ideas. Special holiday stickers can also enhance your theme, but don’t go overboard with them while expressing your holiday scrapbook ideas. Stickers are very versatile and can be stitched, painted, embossed or glitterized!

Include the whole family in the project.

A family rather than an individual within a family celebrates a holiday, even though some holidays are more family-oriented than others. Encourage everyone in your family to gather items and photos that mean something specifically to them. Figure out where and how these images will fit into your holiday scrapbook ideas later. Each family member should have a page in your holiday scrapbook if it is at all possible.

Never lose sight of why you are creating your holiday scrapbooking ideas.

The motive is to have fun and commemorate those special moments that keep us all alive and smiling. Remember too, that if you instill a tradition of exploring your holiday scrapbooking ideas with your children, the chances are that they will also do it with their own children when the time comes.

Organize, organize and then organize some more of your holiday scrapbooking ideas. You might want to keep your scrapping and craft supplies in either glass or plastic containers, which work well because contents can easily be seen from any location on a shelf.

Don’t be intimidated by misconceptions about holiday scrapbooking ideas.

Many people would have thought at one time that holiday scrapbooks and the like are for the more artistically inclined among us. Nothing could be further from the truth and with all the advancements of digital scrapbooking, it couldn’t be any easier than it is; simply upload the photos of your choice, crop them, add embellishments with software and then print them all out to express your holiday scrapbooking ideas.

Another misconception about expressing your holiday scrapbooking ideas concerns the amount of time involved. Many think it is too time consuming. Limit your ideal to capturing a moment and feeling in time and nothing more, and you can finish your holiday scrapbooking ideas in far less time that you might have imagined.

Do not feel that everything must b done in chronological order.

This is one tip that will save you a lot of time. If you are stuck or bored with one section, move on to another more passionate one because inspiration shows in the end.

Whatever you do, enjoy the holidays that comprise your life. They represent the best of our experiences and as such, should be savored, like a glass of the finest wine.

There is rarely a better time for doing crafts than the holiday season. In fact, any holiday is perfect for craft making, it doesn't matter which it is. The holidays can be used as your inspiration and motivation for getting creative, especially when it comes to gift giving. There is virtually no end to the things you can produce with the right materials and ideas.

Cards have got to be the most popular of all easy at home crafts. Any kind of paper can be used to make a card but construction paper works best. Any other sturdy material can also be used. Markers, paints, glitter and gems are just a few of the things you can use to decorate your card nicely. This is a perfect task for very young children to get started in crafts.

Many people are so concerned with the gift that they do not take the time to focus on the gift box. Decorating a gift box is a fabulous way to add some flare to it while increasing the delight of the recipient. Cards can actually be folded into a small gift box with just a few folds. Try searching online for step by step instruction if you should require it. Paint balloons on a birthday box or snowflakes on a Christmas gift box. The smallest touch can add a lot of personality.

Window painting makes a fun holiday craft for any holiday. Stick with the theme by using paints or spray made for window crafts. Be sure it is this type so that you know it will wash off after. Paint pumpkins and witches for Halloween or pretty pink hearts for Valentine's Day. This type of activity is fun for adults and kids so why not do it together? It's a good way to spend some quality time as a family getting ready for your favourite holiday.

For Valentine's Day, try making a love bug for that special someone. Cut out a large heart from pink or red construction paper. Use a different piece of paper, usually a black or brown one, and cut it out in the shape of a bug body like that of a butterfly. Glue the body on to the heart so that the heart becomes the wings. You now have a love bug. Decorate the wings however you like.

Hanging ghosts are an easy favourite for Halloween. All you need is small white treat bags or an old sheet you can cut into large squares. Stuff the bag with anything from paper to leaves to fill half of it before tying it off. The untied portion should hang loose and the tied part becomes the head of the ghost. Draw on a face or spooky words for additional décor.

Holidays are fun for so many reasons. From painting Easter eggs to making your very own Christmas ornaments, the holidays are wonderful for bringing out the kid in everyone. It doesn't take much to get creative. Start with the right materials and don't allow yourself to be limited.

You'd be amazed to discover that your kitchen holds boundless possibilities for making homemade Halloween crafts. Cook up some very unique homemade Halloween crafts projects using simple kitchen materials. Learn how to make different varieties of Jack-O-Lanterns, witch kitchen jars, and Halloween treats.

Not Just Another Jack-O-Lantern

People display the same old boring Jack-O-Lanterns year after year. Wouldn't it be nice to create something different from the rest? But first, learn how to make the basic Jack-O-Lantern.

First, draw a circular outline around the stem of your pumpkin. Carve out the outline at an angle you have a cone shape under the lid. Twist the lid off the pumpkin. Remove pulp with a knife and scrape insides with a spoon.

Draw your favorite Jack-O-Lantern face or pattern on the pumpkin and cut through the outline. Place a tea candle or flashlight inside.

Knowing the basics of making a traditional Jack-O-Lantern will help you move on to using different vegetables and fruits as homemade Halloween crafts materials. You can use green peppers for goblins, mandarins for mini Jack-O-Lanterns, red peppers for lil' devils, and melons for pale ghosts.

Witch Kitchen Jars

If you want to add an interesting flavor to your Halloween kitchen with homemade Halloween crafts, the best project would be witch kitchen jars. Your homemade Halloween crafts materials for this project could be endless.

The first step to do is to simply paint the lids with spray paint so the old labels will be covered. Popular colors are black, red, silver and green.

Next, fill the jars with virtually anything in it, such as mushrooms, rice, dried fruits, vegetable roots, and spices. Fill with water.

Once you've thought of a name like "Brain Stew" or "Goblin's Eyeballs", play around with your Word Processor's font styles and print your label out on paper.

To make the labels of your witch kitchen jars look aged and old, you can brew tea bags in just-boiled water, remove, and let the tea cool. Pour tea into a spray bottle and spray on your label. Let your label dry on wax paper. Once dry, stick the label on your jar using glue. Brush on varnish if desired. Finish off by tying old-fashioned twine around the neck of the jar.

Halloween Treats

After you've made some homemade Halloween crafts, it's time to cook up real edible Halloween treats! This homemade Halloween crafts project is especially fun to make for kids. All you need are spoons, candy melt and a few other materials for decoration.

Melt according to its instructions. Then dip each spoon into your candy melt, scoop out and lay the melt on parchment paper until it is cool enough to remove. Cover candy with clear cellophane and secure with a ribbon or string.

Cut out an egg carton and paint them on to create fun hats for your candies. Attach yarn to the hats for "hair" and draw on eyes and mouth on the candy plastic with markers. Use green candy melt for witches, white for ghosts, and orange for Jack-O-Lanterns.

Now that you have these few tricks up your sleeves for your homemade Halloween project, think of other things you can find in your kitchen to create something spooky and entertaining!

Are you running out of ideas for homemade Halloween crafts for this year? Know out how you can add a different twist to your old homemade Halloween projects!

Spring and summer come and everyone starts opening their doors and windows, bringing in the fresh air. Tree leaves are full and flower blooms abound birds are singing, building nests and taking care of their chicks. I am drawn outdoors by the lure of warmer days and the call of the dirt and new sprouts. Not to mention, as a mom, the kids are clamoring for more room to play. It’s a perfect time to pull out some fun out door family crafts.

Here are a few, easy to personalize, craft ideas for summertime fun or to celebrate May Day, Mother's Day or a holiday weekend. All craft supplies are easily attainable from craft supply stores or online suppliers. While making these crafts is a fun family activity, some are available in pre-assembled kits, or already made. Use your favorite search engine for more information on various ideas – keyword suggestions are offered below craft each idea.

1. Terra cotta clay pot bird bath. Invert terra cotta clay pots, from larger on bottom and smallest on top. Add a clay saucer (the part the pot sits in to catch the drained water). A waterproof saucer is necessary. Set the clay saucer on top of the inverted stack of pots. Paint or mosaic the pots if you feel especially creative. For more bird fun, add a mister. Birds love to play in the water. Note: Make two similar stands and use one for a bird feeder.

2. Plant and grow an herb garden. Include herbs such as basil, thyme, sage, chives and any other favorites. You'll have fresh herbs to add to your recipes all summer long. Herbs are easy to grow, making this an easy garden for kids to help. Take it one step further and create a "kitchen garden", including lettuce spinach, tomato, cucumber or other salad favorites.

3. Build a toad abode. Use a terra cotta pot and a rock. Invert a clay pot and prop edge on a rock. If you have a chipped pot, that would work great too and wouldn’t require propping. Paint and decorate to your liking.

4. A handmade stepping stone. Personalize with stones, marbles, or other memorable items. Make the project a tradition. Mark the stone with the year and include items to remember the year a key (house or car), a toy, etc. A footprint each year could signify the walk of life and would be fun for young children to mark their growth from summer to summer.

5. Personalized necklaces. Letter beads (for names or initials), a few spacer beads, a charm or two added to a simple chain makes a lovely, personal necklace for any mom or grandmother. For fun, make matching necklaces one for mom, grandmother, and daughters.

6. Bookmarks make a great craft for rainy days. Get creative – use paper, dried flowers, ribbons, needlepoint thread. Use beads and charms attached to chain or yarn to create a "book thong".

7. A decorated throw pillow. A pre-made throw pillow with light colored fabric, decorated with fabric paint. Fabric glue will easily adhere buttons and other small mementos. Start from scratch and decorate your fabric before making a pillow – tie-dye, iron-on colored pictures made with fabric crayons or reverse dying using a darker fabric and bleach provide many creative ways to decorate any pillow or piece of fabric. Another variation would be decorating pillow cases.

8. A tie-dye party is fun for family or a gathering of extended family and friends. Supplies are readily available online coming in easy kits.

There are so many fun activities to be done outdoors during nice weather. For more ideas, or to submit your own, visit http://www.mommamuse.com/2006/04/21/summertime-craft-ideas/ .

Judi Cox is a work at home mom living in the Ohio Valley with her husband and 4 children. She enjoys gardening for fun and for the birds, playing with the kids, reading, and promoting other mom businesses. She has been making soap and lotion since 2001.

There are many religious people who do not believe in celebrating Halloween as they feel that the holiday condones Satanic worship. There are, however, some religious people who do not mind participating in Halloween, and for such people, there are a number of different religious crafts that they can try their hand in during Halloween. These crafts will spread God’s word as well as be enjoyable to make. A number of religious crafts will allow you to celebrate Halloween as well as remain within the limits of your beliefs and convictions.

Doling candy sticks is one great religious crafts to make on Halloween and can be used for trick or treat activities. You need to buy card stock paper from your department store and cut out shapes of candy corn. Colour the tips white, the middle yellow and the bottoms orange. Use markers or crayons according to your preference.

At the bottom most part of the corn, you can write these phrases: “You picked a treat from the bowl, here’s a treat for the soul.” At the back of the candy, write down different verses from the bible. Punch a hole on top of the corn and use a string to tie it to the different treats. These kinds of Halloween crafts can involve the entire family and spending time making these are great ways of starting the holiday.

Another cute religious craft that is also easy to create involve kids. First, you need to take a round lollipop like Tootsie Pop. For each lollipop, take a 4” square of burlap, 2” round green felt, a rubber band, black and orange yarn and glue. Wrap the lollopop with the burlap and secure at the bottom using the rubber band. This forms the ‘neck.’ Make the hat by gluing the green felt at the top. Draw a smiling mouth, the nose and the eyes and your very own scarecrow is ready.

After this, take strips of paper with bible verses written on them such as the Psalm 118:6 – I will not be afraid; The Lord is beside me or Psalm 32:7 – You protect me from trouble; You are my hiding place. Attach these papers to the scarecrow by punching a hole through them and pulling yarn.

The best thing about religious Halloween crafts is that these are great ways of having some fun as well as spreading God’s word. You can always rely on your imagination to come up with your own crafts. There are a number of ways of participating in Halloween without offending your religious sentiments.

To make the glasses case, you will need the following simple materials: a square of craft foam, plastic or large blunt needles, lanyard lace or thick yarn. Cut two rectangles from the foam, each 3-1/2 inches (9 cm.) by 6 inches (15 cm.). With a hole punch, make holes on three sides of each rectangle, leaving one short side unpunched. Make the holes 1/2 inch apart and allow at least 1/4 inch between the hole and the edge of the craft foam. The holes need to line up so that the two pieces can be laced together. If you are preparing the craft for small children, you should make the holes yourself. Otherwise, the crafters can do this step if you have enough pairs of hole punches.

At this point the crafters can cut decorative shapes from other colors of craft foam, or you can buy sets of ready-cut foam shapes. If you are doing the craft at a special event, like vacation Bible school, choose shapes that echo the theme of the event. For instance, if the Bible school or camp has a cowboy theme, find shapes that fit well, such as boots, cowboy hats, and stars. Let the kids choose the shapes they like and glue on as desired. You might also like to provide beads or sequins to glue on as well, especially if the crafters are a little older.

The next step in this arts and crafts idea is to thread the plastic needle with the yarn or lanyard lace. Yarn might be a little easier to handle, but lanyard lace is shiny and attractive. In a pinch, some teachers of small children use a bobby pin as a needle. It is certainly a safe alternative. Simply loop the yarn through the opening and use the open end of the bobby pin as if it were the point of the needle. The children can now begin to lace the front and back of the glasses case together.

To turn this arts and crafts idea into a necklace purse, simply attach a piece of lanyard lace to each corner making a long handle. Kids will enjoy using this case as a place to store secret notes and small objects. If they'd rather, they can give the glasses case to a parent, grandparent, or friend who wears glasses. Either way, this arts and crafts idea will be interesting for all.

Easter is on the door-step... Do you need any Easter crafts ideas to decorate your home quickly?

My free Easter crafts ideas and projects are really practical, because they're so simple and you don't need any special accessories to make them.

You'll only need some glue, paint, scissors, felt, papers and your two hands to make these simple Easter crafts projects.

Easter paper craft using egg-boxes

You might think how is it possible to make decoration using egg-boxes. It's really simple and I think this is the most lovely Easter decoration on my site.

Take an hour or so, a paper egg-box, some felt, an egg boxes few other things and your creative two hands and create wonderful chickens!

The following two step-by-step guideline will explain you how to make them. Visit my site www.marcels-kid-crafts-com to see the pattern and the step-by-step pictures.

You'll need:

    * egg-box (for the body and the wings)

    * all purpose adhesive

    * scissors

    * red felt (for the crests)

    * yellow cardboard (for the beak)

    * feather (for the tail)

    * white paper (for the eyes)

    * black marker

    * pen

The steps:

Print and cut the patterns out.

Outline the patterns.

Cut out pieces. (The wings are made of the lid of the egg-box.)

Cut the middle part, the peaks of the box.

Cut the bottom of the peak round as shown.

First, glue the two red felt pieces about the middle of the peak.

Next, glue the beak as shown and hold it for a few minutes.

Then, glue the edge of the first wing on the back of the chicken.

Do the same with the second wing.

Glue the two white eyes and draw two dots with the black marker.

Next, is the feather.

Glue it on the back of the chicken between the wings.

Hold it for a few minutes.

Finally, glue the crest on the top of the chicken and hold it until it stands firmly.

Wait 5-10 minutes until everything completely dried.

Dont't forget to have a look at the pictures!

Summer will be here soon enough, and your kids will be thrilled with being out of school and playing outside. Well, at least for a few days anyway. Once the newness of summer has worn off and the reality of boredom sinks in, your once happy campers can turn into 'mom I'm bored' monsters. What's a parent to do to help ease the pain of 'nothing to do'? Planning summer craft projects in advance is an idea that smart parents may make use of. Who knows, perhaps the kiddos will even learn a thing or two at the same time.

Since the weather is perfect for getting out and exploring nature, kids can find objects like seeds, leaves, grass, flowers and other items to use in making a nature collage. All they have to do is glue the found craft bits onto a stiff piece of cardboard. They can add any other items they want to make the collage colorful and interesting. Spraying the collage with paint can add color and variety too. How about spraying some glue on and then sprinkling glitter on the collage? Another idea for using the nature items they collect is to arrange dried flowers into special arrangements for mom.

Naturally, if kids collect wild flowers they'll need a wonderful homemade vase to arrange them in. Making a simple vase is a great summer craft idea. Kids can make a nice, simple vase from a recycled tin can. Soup cans and small coffee cans work well for homemade vases. The best tin cans have smooth outsides and aren't too wide. Make sure you trim off any sharp points or edges that may still be on the can opening. Kids can cut a piece of colorful construction paper to fit around the outside of the can and then glue it to the can after they've decorated it in anyway they wish. Stickers, markers, crayons, paint, glue and glitter...the list goes on. A great idea for decorating the vase is by drawing a wonderful summer scene on the construction paper. They can also add their name, glue dried pasta, beans or seeds on the paper. Let it all dry well before gluing to the can. However they may want to decorate their vase is up to them. All that's left is adding some water and flowers or their dried wildflowers.

Kids can make containers and vases from empty jars as well. Canning jars make great vases, but any old recycled jar works well. Make sure to clean it really well. Let the kiddos get their hands wet by cleaning the jars themselves. After the jar is dry, add pretty ribbon around the mouth.

We all love crafts! They are a great way for kids to learn fine motor skills, and express themselves creatively, but being crafty can put a strain on your pocketbook at times. Going to the store to buy supplies for each and every craft project, just isn't practical. Which is why, it's important to learn how to come up with kids craft ideas on a budget. Consider using items and supplies that you already have on hand, for fun and simple impromptu projects.

There are so many items that often get overlooked when it comes to crafting. Think back to your own childhood. The days of toilet paper roll projects and egg cartons, should come rolling back. Remember how fun it was to create something beautiful out of something so plain? Help your kids relieve that same joy and pride with these simple tips and craft projects.

Recycle and Re-Use

Teaching your kids about recycling is a really good life lesson, so why not integrate craft time and science by re-using common household items? Paper bags, egg cartons and other goodies get a second life when they are forever treasured in the form of a craft project. Encourage your kids to come up with other household items that can be used for craft projects, you may be surprised at the things that they come up with!

Here are just a few of the materials that you can recycle, discover, or re-use for your own craft projects:

-Egg Cartons

-Grocery Bags (paper or plastic)

-Cardboard inserts from packaging and boxes

-CD's

-Old denim or fabric swatches

-T-shirts that no longer fit

-Used birthday cards or bags

-Wrapping paper

-Toilet paper and paper towel rolls

-Plastic soda bottles

-Cans (use caution with sharp edges)

-Things found in nature: A rock, leaves, sticks, etc.

Gravel Art

Here is a great little project that uses items that you should have lying around! Enjoy!

Materials Needed:

-Large Cardboard Box

-Small pieces of gravel (You will need quite a bit)

-String or Yarn

-Pencil

-Simple Coloring Book or personal drawing

-White glue in squeeze bottle

-Scissors

-Crayons (optional)

Instructions

1.	Wash and rinse the gravel in a kitchen strainer. Spread out on towels to dry.

2.	On your cardboard, use the pencil to make an outline of a simple drawing.

3.	With the glue, trace over the outline.

4.	Press string or yard onto the glue lines, cutting where necessary to form corners and angles.

5.	Glue gravel onto the picture filling the spaces. You can use all one color, or use different colors for different areas.

6.	If you wish to have a background, use crayons to draw and color one in.

Use Your Imagination

Once you get the hang of coming up with kids craft ideas, you will never go back to the store bought kits. There is so much more creativity and freedom that goes along with recycling and re-using common household items.

If it is winter time and your child has been asked to make some winter projects and therefore there are many wonderful possibilities for basic winter art projects and crafts such as cutting out snowflakes or drawing a Santa Claus but in addition there are some other fun things and activities to be done. You can pose the idea of interesting arts and crafts to your children and you shall really be surprised at the creative ideas of your children.

Some fun ideas for winter crafts whereby you can use organized supplies such as:

1. Cotton is very useful in making some great winter art projects and if these cotton balls are a bit colder they can even look like mini snowballs. Your child can also draw wonderful winter scenery and then rip them, fluff them and glue them at the places where snow has to be shown.

2. Winter is always incomplete without marshmallows. Marshmallows is added treats in hot chocolate but can also be used for winter crafts. Your kids can take three big marshmallows and then stack them on top of each other so as to make a mini and tasty snowman. Toothpicks can also be used to hold the marshmallows together and also as the arms. Mini marshmallows can be a great fun when snowballs are attached to winter collages.

3. Plaster of Paris is also used in many great ways and not just for winter crafts and one of such ways is to use it to make "footprints in the snow." For this, you can fill a box lid with negligible item such as Plaster of Paris. When it settles and dries you can make different footprints in the snow or could be used as the side of fist to look like a baby's footprints.

4. Birds that stay in place all through winter needs food and during winter children can make a pine cone bird feeder. So you need to cover a pine cone in peanut butter and dip it in the bird seed and then tie a bit of string to one of these pine cones and hung it up on the tree outside.

5. You can also use glitter to add so that any basic winter art project looks even more fancy and beautiful.

Once the days are shorter and colder, entertaining an active toddler can become really hard work. This is where your list of toddler winter craft ideas also becomes your life line and your sanity. As a parent there is one place you can never avoid - the kitchen, hence this is the best place to stick your list of toddler winter craft ideas.

You toddler winter craft ideas list needs to grow with your toddler - as he learns and progresses so will your list. You will also find out which crafts he/she enjoys most and be able to develop more of these. It is worth speaking to the other mothers who have been driven out of the parks by the rain and cold and suggest that they too have a toddler winter craft ideas list, this way you can all swap ideas and the list will extend fairly fast, with tried and tested ideas.

When you are developing projects for your toddler winter craft ideas list you need to choose projects which are suitable for your toddlers attention span - short. If an idea does not work do not write it off as a failure, simply pack it up for that day and try again another day, or discuss it with another mother who may have an idea how to adjust it to make it more successful.

A good starting point for toddler winter craft ideas is the simple paper plate. You can decorate it to make a picture; make a cut from the edge to the center and sticky tape it into a cone, decorate the outside and use it as a hat; make a cone out of it, decorate it and put pop corn in it; cut it in half, stick some pieces of ribbon hanging off the straight edge and make a jelly fish; cut it in half, remove two eyes, and a triangular shape so it fits over the nose and you have a mask. All simple and cheap toddler winter craft ideas from a plate - none of which require preparation and can be packed away quickly when they want to move onto something else.

If you have an older child as well you can probably get them working along the same lines as your toddler winter craft idea, for example the older sibling could help make the popcorn for to go in the cone; could paint a sea scene to put the jelly fish in ... Once you get into the swing of it the possibilities are endless.

Remember, put a piece of paper on the kitchen wall titled Toddler Winter Craft Ideas and when you think of something just jot it down and it will be there next time you need to distract your toddler - never rely on your memory as the times when these ideas are most needed are probably the times when you are most stressed. You may also want to have a box in the kitchen where you can put useful supplies. It is probably best to keep this out of reach so that when you need it the stuff is still there, otherwise you may find your efforts unintentionally sabotaged by your toddlers exploring fingers!

Craft making as one of the best ways of giving gifts while being intimate and personal in all special occasions.

There are many ways your family can have quality time with each other. One of the great ways is craft making. It may be simple or may involve delicate, specific and articulate designs but all the members of the family may be involved in all the exciting steps of craft making starting from planning to designing. This is a sure way of having fun while doing something for special occasions or just for quiet times with your loved ones.

Every special occasion means giving something, which will symbolize your love and appreciation to someone. Craft making involves personal touch and ideas thus, it will be more intimate and sensitive because it is made specifically for that special person. The relationship you have with each other may reflect with what you have done. Craft making can eat an hour, your whole day, weeks or even months depending on your plan and how you would like it to be made. This will also depend in the personality, age, and the willingness of how much time and effort the person doing craft will put into.

Magazines and websites will be of great help in choosing what you would like to make and finding the right supplies. You can either ask your friends of what is the best design to make or you may also buy things from the store and then put designs with your personal touch. You may also buy craft supplies you need for craft making and find outside assistance with certain steps.

Now that Mother's Day is fast approaching, what will be the best thing to give the woman who we owe our lives to? You can buy expensive or cheap stuff in stores or personally make that special gift for your mom. We should be reminded that the day is not only for the mothers but also for the children. From the traditional cards saying love and poems, we can choose from other ideas and designs made into lovely gifts which require a little time and effort. For younger kids who really want to give something special for their mommies, they would need assistance and might end-up being a helper to the older ones.

You can choose from customized pillowcases, personalized clock or other ideas. In doing customized pillow cases, these crafts can be made easily with a simple stitching pattern guide. If you want you can put heart warming messages or designs such as hearts and flowers of your choice in embroidering them. In doing personalized clock, buy a simple analog clock. You may pop the cover off the front and remove the hands. Place a special photograph of your mom or other art design on the front, gluing it into place. Replace the hands and front cover, and its ready! Always remember to remove the battery of the clock before removing the hands; but before removing the hands, it is a good idea to synchronize them to a single position first. This is to make sure that the clock is still working after being reassembled.

Another great idea is to have a picture of you and your mom put it in frame decorate with artwork, seashells, shiny stones, ribbon, or other tidbits and it's all set.

We should remember that it is not how expensive or beautiful gifts are, or how much we liked them or will be in used, the thing is that we know how to be grateful for what is given to us if it is made with love and wrapped with so much appreciation.
