You need not look farther than your own house and backyard to make easy Halloween crafts for kids' wonderful costumes. In fact, there are many things you can find in your closet. Nature can also offer you loads of Halloween materials.

For super easy Halloween crafts for kids costumes, search your closet for old, new, frequently used, and discarded outfits and accessories. You'll be surprised what you can create with these. Start off by thinking of basic themes such as caped characters, princesses, and other characters from cartoons/fairytales. Here are some costume ideas:

Blood-Red Riding Hood

For a no-sew bloody Red Riding Hood Halloween costume, you can use your red hooded sweaters. Attach any red cloth or fabric (this could be from a pillowcase, old bed sheet, towel, or table cloth) to the backside of the sweatshirt with safety pins. Wear a skirt to complete the Little Red Riding Hood look. If you're going to wear a red-colored skirt, the better!

Bandages and fake blood will complete your Bloody Red Riding Hood look. Making fake blood is an easy Halloween crafts for kids: just mix cornstarch, corn syrup, and red food coloring. For your "scratches", use a red pen or marker. You can now be a Bloody Red Riding Hood who seemed to have barely escaped the Big Bad Wolf!

Batman

Kids will find this Halloween crafts for kids easy and exciting! In making the mask, simply measure the distance between your eyes and apply it on the surface of a paper plate, where you will punch two holes for vision. After punching the two holes, draw out a bat outline and cut out this outline. You can find free bat templates over the Internet and print them out. Next, paint the whole mask black with fast-drying poster paint. You can also purchase a pack of black paper plates if you can find one. Then, punch holes in the sides so you can attach garters, which will secure the mask over your face.

To complete the Batman look, don on a black or gray sweatshirt and black sweatpants or tights. Attach a black fabric to the back of the sweatshirt with safety pins.

Sleepwalker

A sleepwalker costume is another easy Halloween crafts for kids. All you need are your PJ's, a set of curlers, and a teddy bear (or voodoo doll to scare off guests).

Nature Princess

A nature princess costume is an easy Halloween crafts for kids. For this costume, you will need a nightgown, some flowers, dried leaves and some twigs. Tie the flowers together, suspend upside down, and let them dry under the sun. Make a wreath for your crown out of the twigs and dried leaves by using strong glue and your glue gun. Add the dried flowers and eggshells for more interest. You can also purchase a rubber snake to wear around your neck.

Now you realize that in finding easy Halloween crafts for kids, you need not look farther than your old closet and your very own backyard. You can think of hundreds of other themes around materials you already have in your home.

Halloween is a fun time for everyone to play dress-up. Some costume projects may be difficult, but a lot are actually easy Halloween crafts for kids. Kids can make their own no-sew, homemade costumes and accessories. This article will show you a few ideas on making simple Halloween costumes and accessories.

A Milk Carton Cow Costume

A milk carton that resembles a cow at the same time would be a really cute no-sew costume to make! Young kids will especially love making this costume themselves. Simply cut out the flaps and a hole on two sides of a carton box for the arms to go through. Have your kid paint the box with a white base and black spots using non-toxic poster paint.

Accessories for this Halloween crafts for kids costume is a tail made of paper and yarn which you can attach to the lower part of the box. Simply cut out paper ears and horns and glue to a headband, which your kid can wear to complete the whole look.

Closet Costume

Costumes as Halloween crafts for kids does not always involve creating your own costumes. If kids will rummage through their old clothes, they will find items which they can assemble together creatively for their Halloween costumes. For example, they can use a red hooded sweatshirt for a Little Red Riding Hood costume; their PJ's for a Sleepwalker costume, and a black sweatshirt and pants for a Ninja Costume. Just add accessories like a basket, a teddy bear, or a mask made out of a plain T-shirt.

The Halloween Hats

There are easy Halloween crafts for kids that can show you how to make Halloween hats. For a witch's hat, draw out a semi-circle at the edge of a piece of black paper using a circular template. Cut out the drawing, fold the piece into a cone, and fasten with staples/glue. Cut out a circle (larger in diameter than the cone's bottom) from the same black paper and then glue or tape the cone on its center. This is your witch's hat. To make a sorcerer's hat, simply use the cone and paste cutout paper stars on it. You can also use glue and glitter to create the stars.

Making Halloween Wands

A witch is not a witch, nor a fairy a fairy, and sorcerer a sorcerer if they are without a wand. For this easy Halloween crafts for kids project, use a paintbrush instead of a pencil or straight tube for the wand stick. A paintbrush usually has a more elegant shape.

To make a Halloween crafts for kids' wand, spray-paint the whole paintbrush and let it sit to dry. Next, draw and cut out two identical paper starts. At the brush-end of the paintbrush, stick the two stars back-to-back, with the brush in between. Use other shapes for a witch's wand such as a half-moon. For a sorcerer's wand, place glue on the brush to harden it. Wind yarn or twine around the paintbrush for a Harry Potter-like wand. Spray-paint the whole paintbrush with gold or brown for that realistic effect.

To make any costume realistic and interesting-looking, always remember to add its matching accessories. Both are simple to make with easy Halloween crafts for kids.

You can make easy Halloween costumes and Halloween crafts for kids. The key is looking for the right steps.

Different kinds of paper are probably some of the best materials to use for crafts because of their wide variety of uses and the ease with which they can be handled. Easy paper Halloween crafts might be a good idea for a craft project this October. Here are some of them.

Trick or Treat Bags

One great project for easy paper Halloween crafts are bags that you can give away during trick or treat. The simplest trick or treat bag design would be pasting pumpkin cut outs made from pieces of orange, black and green construction paper. If you want to be more creative with these easy paper Halloween crafts, you can cut out different facial features from construction paper to paste on the bag. You can add special scary features like fangs and horns. Fill the bag with goodies and fold and close the top with some tape. Cut some yarn and glue on the fold for hair.

Witch Masks

Paper plates are one of the most versatile easy paper Halloween crafts. Any Halloween decoration with a circular shape like a wreath or a pumpkin could be made out of paper plates. Aside from decorations, a variety of homemade masks can be made out of them like a witch mask.

In making witches from paper plates, simply paint the back part of your paper plate with light, lime or mint green. Let it dry and carefully cut out eye slots. You can trace the outline of the slots with black ink for effect. For the nose, cut a triangle from a piece of green construction paper and fold the triangle in half. Put some glue on the two long edges of the triangle and attach to the center of the plate just below the eyes. Cut a squiggly mouth from black construction paper and paste below the nose. Cut circles from brown construction paper for moles and warts.

Cut a triangle with curved edges from black construction paper and glue to the top of the plate to make a witch's hat. Cut a long thin strip of construction paper and paste just below the triangular hat to serve as the hat's base. Cut holes and insert rubber bands on the opposite sides of the mask. There are no other easy paper Halloween crafts than this.

Ghost Streamer

These easy paper Halloween crafts use additional materials other than paper. Get a circular object such as an old ping pong ball. Cut white crepe paper into long strips with widths that are slightly wider than the circumference of the ball. Stick the ball onto the center of one crepe strip. Put adhesive on the back of the crepe and ball and lay it horizontally on a vertically positioned strip. You should now have a cross of two strips with the ball at the center.

Stick a third strip of crepe to the back of the ball again. Do the same with the other two strips but this time, the crepe should be placed diagonally. Stick a fourth strip going in the opposite direction. Gather the remaining strips and continue sticking horizontally, vertically and diagonally.

Insert your hand under so that you are holding the very base of the pieces of glued crepe. Invert the strips such that the ball becomes completely covered. Gather the strips together and tie at the bottom of the ball. Draw ghostly features on the ball with a marker. Thread a piece of double white yarn on a small square of white cartolina and knot at the bottom. Stick the piece of cartolina on the head of your ghost.

Find out how you can transform old paper materials into exciting and easy paper Halloween crafts.

For some handmade artists once they set up a web site or shop on Etsy.com or Artfire.com the sales rolling in. For others it takes a little bit of elbow grease and possibly some marketing dollars to get the sales they need to make setting up shop worth while.

That is where online marketing comes in. In this day an age if you are not marketing on the internet you are missing out on tons of potential buyers. Marketing online, if done properly can give your business the boost it needs to create the income you want.

Now there are basically 2 types of online marketing: Free and Fee Based.

Free Online Marketing Methods Online marketing that does not cost you money is great. But know what doesn’t cost you money will cost you your time. The most popular online marketing methods that do not cost you include joining a social network, placing free classifieds, link exchanges, article marketing, blogging, podcasting and viral videos. All of these require a great amount of time and consistency. Some of these methods even take prep time. The rewards that come from these methods are not seen for many weeks and/or many months. So if you decide to utilize free marketing methods just know you must be diligent and patient.

Fee Based Online Marketing Methods Popular online marketing methods that cost money include virtual craft shows, email marketing, PPC - Pay Per Click Campaigns. If you are not careful you can blow your marketing budget and see very little results. When selecting marketing methods that require a fee you must be very selective. Not all online marketing opportunities are created equal and not all are going to be right for you and your crafts that you are selling.

Now before you start marketing, the first thing you need to do is to add a traffic tracking service to your site. Perhaps the most popular one and the one that I prefer and recommend is Google Analytics. It is 100% free; they give very accurate and detail statistical information on your traffic. You will need this information to determine where your traffic is coming from and which of your marketing methods are bringing you the most traffic.

If you are a handmade artist and you would like to know more about selling your crafts online, then I invite you to join our online social network Crafts, Crafts & more crafts.
Anywhere you look, you can find Halloween crafts, and there are plenty of crafts that are really easy to do. There are loads of magazines and books on Halloween crafts and easy crafts. The internet is perhaps the best bet for the widest variety of choices. Here are a few crafts from the internet that are exceedingly easy to carry out during the Halloween season.

A Q-Tip skeleton is one craft that was found on the internet and can be done by just about anyone. First, take some white paper and cut out a skull from it. You can either cut out the nose, eyes and mouth or you can draw them on. Then using Q-tips, make the body of the skeleton. Arrange the Q-tips on some black construction paper in such a way that they make the legs, ribs, and arms etc. of the skeleton. If you need to, you can shorten the q-tips by cutting them. Once you are satisfied with the skeletal arrangement, just glue the Q-tips to the paper using white glue and leave to dry.

Who doesn't love Halloween crafts that are edible? Dirt and worms is the most popular edible Halloween craft and is especially a hit with the kids. All you need to do is take a clean clear plastic cup and fill it with some chocolate ice cream. Then take some chocolate cookies in a zip-loc bag and smash them into tiny bits. Take the smashed pieces and some gummy worms and pour them over the ice cream. Your dirt and worms is ready and you can have a great time eating it.

You can even adapt some difficult Halloween crafts into easy ones. You can make a cute little pumpkin wreath by cutting little pumpkins from some orange construction paper and using a black marker to draw scary faces on them. Then cut out the center circle off a paper plate and clue the pumpkins around its edges. Punch a hole at the top, pull a hole through it and hang.

Ghostly bushes is another Halloween craft that can make you a Halloween sensation in your neighborhood. Take a plain white sheet. Fold it into a half. Place a few newspapers between the folds and use some craft paint or a black marker to draw a ghost face on it. You can make either scary or funny faces. After it has dried, place the sheet over a bush and tightly secure it with some clothespins at the back.

There are a number of Halloween crafts that are really simple and easy. You just need to search. It will be great if you can add your own imagination and creativity to improvise on the crafts. This Halloween, decorate your home with crafts you made yourself!

Are you an experienced craftsperson who is looking to increase your public presence? Consider donating some of your crafts to a local nonprofit agency or local charity. Not only will this allow you to network and make important contacts, you'll also be making a difference where it really counts and strengthening your bonds to the community. Here are five easy ways to get involved:

1. Find a cause you have a passion for. Simply stated, passion cannot be faked. You must choose a nonprofit charity that you really care about, and for which you would be willing to work for with no thought of compensation. Perhaps you've always been touched by hospital-bound children stricken by illness. You happen to specialize in creating charming, old-fashioned rag dolls. Why not donate some of your best work to spread a bit of joy?

In this scenario, you would want to seek out a nonprofit organization or charity that works with young hospital patients. Speak to the outreach director or volunteer coordinator of the agency you're interested in. Tell them the ways you would like to help, and listen to their suggestions. They should be able to tell you about their current situation and needs. Hopefully, there will be a match, and you can begin to work together. Whatever you do, you should always check with the nonprofit agency before you simply start donating your crafts.

2. Offer to spearhead a charity event. If you specialize in kid's craft parties, offer to hold a craft party for a local nonprofit agency. Be aware that this sort of undertaking will demand a lot of your time and energy. You may work with the nonprofit agency to coordinate the event.

Strive to make this collaboration as smooth and pleasant as possible. Remember that the event you organize will be a show of your leadership and organization skills. You'll want to make a good impression as you connect with potential clients, and re-connect with previous customers. Most importantly, remember that the true goal of the event is to make a small difference in the lives of others.

3. Organize a charity crafts fair. Another way increase your public presence by donating your crafts is by organizing a charity craft fair. Consider setting up the crafts fair in conjunction with the nonprofit agency of your choice. Or you can hold the crafts fair on your own, and then donate the proceeds to a local charity.

Start by recruiting other experienced craftspeople for the fair. Advertise the event widely. Consider contacting your local media to raise awareness about the fair. Ask your local newspapers or television station to help advertise the event. The more exposure the crafts fair gets the more proceeds you'll be able to donate. And, your crafts and the work of your fellow craftspeople will gain much deserved exposure.

4. Hold a charity craft auction as part of a larger event. If the idea of organizing an entire crafts fair sounds a bit overwhelming to you, then consider holding a charity craft auction as part of a larger event. Find a group of interested and experienced craftspeople and put together a catalog of sale items, with all proceeds going to the nonprofit agency of your choice. You and your fellow craftspeople should donate some of your best work to ensure a successful auction.

If your crafts sell well at the charity auction, you can expect your reputation as a craftsperson to grow. Selling your work in this type of atmosphere demonstrates that your work has value, and that it can make a difference in the life of someone who needs a change.

5. Donate your crafts for use. If you create crafts that can be put to good use by individuals less fortunate than you, by all means work with the appropriate nonprofit agency to donate your work. For instance, nonprofit groups such as Wrap Them in Love and Knit for Kids provide needy individuals with warm quilts and much-needed sweaters.

If you specialize in such crafts, donating your work is a wonderful way to make a big difference in the life of someone who needs help. You'll gain experience in working with nonprofit agencies, make valuable contacts, gain resume experience, and gain confidence in your work.

There are several ways that you can market your crafts online. So it may be hard to decide which one will be the right one for marketing crafts online. But here are 3 easy ways for marketing your crafts and it will cost you just a little time or just a few cents a day.

Twitter.com
By now you should have heard about Twitter unless you have been living under a rock. Twitter.com is a site that allows people to post what they are up to any time they have inkling. Many handmade artists have started to use Twitter.com as a way for marketing crafts online. Twitter is 100% free, but it does take up a bit of time. You see the key to getting the word out about your craft is to get followers. And even then you have to target the right followers. Many handmade artists find that it takes a considerable amount of time getting enough followers to make a difference in the amount of traffic they get to their online shop. Yet there have been some handmade artists to get over 2,000 plus followers and as a result have seen a rise in the amount of traffic to their sites.

ShopHandmadeOnline.com
ShopHandmadeOnline.com is an online catalog that showcases the crafts of handmade artists. If you have a few handmade craft items that you would like to bring special attention to then this is a great place to advertise. Handmade artists can easily market their crafts by renting ad boxes. Each ad box displays one craft and it links directly to the online shop of handmade artists. The visitors of ShopHandmadeOnline.com often come in search of quality handmade gifts to give to a special some one.

HandmadeCraftShow.com
HandmadeCraftShow.com is an online virtual craft show that showcases the crafts of handmade artists using virtual craft show booths. Handmade artists are able to display up to 4 pictures of their crafts. Each virtual craft show booth also allows for a shop name, url, description, specialty items, price range, and twitter link. Each booth links directly to the handmade artist online shop. Shoppers love this because it allows them to buy handmade crafts directly from the artists. This allows the handmade artists to keep their prices down and pass the savings on to their buyers.
